Income generation

The project did generate income.
When the site was promoted and supported it made $5k-$7K a month.
The domain has never been promoted through paid placement. The idea was to invest into ourselves (vs. advertising company). Our efforts concentrated around "natural", and it paid off on long run. 3 years later we're still at the top positions.

Up until 3-4 months ago, the site has been generating in the range of $200-$800( This is after 3 years of "free fall")

- Memberships sales were the only source of income.
- Site NEVER had any affiliate program setup.
- SIte NEVER had any advertising. Google adsense block that you see on 1st page has been placed there 2-3 months ago. It generates about $50-$60 per month.

History

This project started in 2001. First few years after initial release the site was supported and maintained.
3 years ago the original team that developed and maintained this project split: someone couldn't continue to work due personal problems, others decided to move on to different projects.. Whoever was left did not have any desire to support/maintain business.

Since we shifted 100% toward software developmen t- the site has been on its own for about 3 years. We did plan to return to it at some point, but but it looks like it will never happen.
