It has gorgeous brazilian cherry hardwoods and nice carpeting in the bedrooms. The house has a big washer & dryer, & really new appliances. There's tile floors and granite countertops in the bathrooms, and we also have a grill for our patio (which is really nice) and a lawnmower for the yard. We have a 2-car driveway and parking in front of the house on the street, and only 1 of us has a car. Also, once we figure out how to hook it all up, we have speakers on the patio which hook up to an iPod, and surround sound built into the ceiling in the living room. We also have the connections for a flat screen to be mounted in the living room (sooo if you have one we'd be thrilled!!). <br> The house is in an awesome location downtown near Shaw (both of us ride bikes around the area) and we love our neighbors - the neighborhood is safe, welcoming and community-oriented, populated mostly by young couples and families with small kids/babies, plus a few of us single (unmarried) ladies. We've done a lot of decorating, to make the house feel more like a REAL home, & to avoid the whole college-ish crash-pad type of atmosphere. <br> The available bedroom is pretty small so we're only charging $390 for it (the other 2 of us will each pay $455/month since our rooms are larger). Utilities are not included in the rent and we think they should average about $100 per person, MAX (if we are all reasonably conscious about our electricity/water use, etc).<br> Also, as a side note, we can help make the open bedroom feel larger by removing the doors from the closet & putting up a curtain/tapestry & a curtain rod. The house is fully furnished, with the exception of the second bedroom which has only a large desk and bookcase (so you would need to provide your own bed). I have 1 indoor cat (catbox/food is in master bathroom, so you'd never come in contact with it; cat is 100% catbox-trained), who is a tiny little thing (5-6lbs, tops) and is just over a year old. She constantly hunts for bugs that may have slipped in through an open door (yes, she kills/eats them). She is very friendly and playful (but not clingy/needy), and she does not shed very much. I am a non-smoker and I do not do drugs. I will occasionally drink, but I'm not a party animal.<br> <br>About my current roommate: 39m, day-trader (trades in the stock market), avid golfer, no pets, nonsmoker, no drugs, occasionally drink, grills a mean steak on my propane grill out back on the deck, keeps the shared bathroom clean. <br><br>About you: Age, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion etc are unimportant to me, and I don't care about your credit score, either. Outside smokers are okay. Deck out back has rope lights around deck perimeter and bug zapper in trees behind deck, along with patio furniture and tiki torches...and I've got speakers rigged up over the deck if you want to set up with your mp3 player. I also have a hanging bench/porch swing on the front porch, which is under overhang if you go out for a smoke in the rain. I am fine if you are 420, just so long as you do it out back on the deck and refrain from any smoking in the house at all (I'm allergic to smoke). The house is one block from Hillsborough St, two blocks from Glenwood Ave….walking distance from pretty much anywhere you want to go downtown and Cameron Village. You will have a private bedroom and bath, shared kitchen, laundry and living areas. The bedroom itself is not terribly large, the main room is approx. 12 x 15 with a walk in closet and bathroom that branch off but there is a mainly unused large dining room that can hold any overflow furniture you might have. 15’ ceilings, hardwood floors throughout….the pictures really don’t do any justice. There is also a nice sized deck with table & chairs and ample parking. <br> Your future roommate is a 34 y/o professional female who is looking for someone relatively close in age and lifestyle. During the week I get up extremely early and go to bed early as well, so I would prefer someone who is on a similar schedule. On the weekends I do like to enjoy the downtown life and sometimes have guests, but it’s typically not too loud, too late and the parties stay at the bar. I try to be as respectful as possible of my roommate and expect the same in return. <br> Utilities are in my name and will be split in half. No inside smoking and no pets.
