This little guy was just left near our home last night. I brought him home, fed him, brushed him and gave him some worm medicine. I also got his his 1st Parvo shot. He is very sweet and loves attention. He looks to be 6-8 weeks old. I think he is a Chow mix but his tongue is not blue, so I dunno. He will probably be a good sized dog when he is grown. There is a small rehoming fee to cover his shots and medicine I gave him. Come take him before my GF gets attatched to him...PLEEZ! (919)775-5864

hi this dog was found in Middlesex, it is a female dog she looks to be almost a year and she is really sweet, she has to stay in a pen outside the police station because that's where some dogs and puppies are put until they find homes. She is very sweet. she needs a good home where she will be loved and she will spayed when she finds someone who wants her the mayor of middlesex has said he would pay to get her fixed so she won't make any puppies. we own a dog grooming and boarding business and take in rescues but we don't have any room for her because of other rescues we have and no extra space, but she will make a great pet for someone or a family.

Trinity and her sister were abandoned by their previous owner at an animal hospital. Luckily, the staff and her foster mom refused to let them end up in the shelter so they were brought to their foster's home to keep warm this winter. Trinity is a very sweet and BIG kitty. It is apparent that she was well cared for before being abandoned as she is very people-friendly! She would probably prefer a calmer house with not too many other dogs and cats. She is a very calm, easygoing kitty and would just prefer to hang out and be loved on by her owner. She loves to snuggle and be loved and will be a great companion for a wonderful person looking for an equally wonderful kitty! Trinity is a great girl who just needs somewhere to be loved and cared for the rest of her days. She is a Maine Coon mix (her sister looks like a purebred Maine Coon!) who was already spayed so she has a reduced adoption fee of $90. Estimated DOB June 2001.

Adoption fee includes microchip, vaccines, FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, and flea prevention

Please go to www.2pawsup.org to fill out an application!

I have a two year old female black lab. She is really good with people and kids. She has had all her shots but has not been spayed. She needs a good family home and room to run. She loves attention and to play. She swims, fetches and wrestles. She is full blooded but she is not registered. There is a rehoming fee of 50 dollars. If you think you can give this girl a good home, please email me to set up a time to see her.

Sunkist is about a year old and she is a pit bull. She might be mixed with something else but to me she just looks like a small pit. She only weighs 29 lbs and she is very tiny. She is the sweetest dog I have met given her history.
I work with a rescue group and back in January a kind man brought us Sunkist. He said he found her in the road and brought her to us. She was so skinny and only weighed 17 pounds when we got her. She had no hair at all and her body was full of sores and scabs. She was so cold that we couldn’t even get a temperature on the thermometer. To tell you the truth I didn’t think she was going to make it through the night because she couldn’t even stand up on her own. After constant care and love Sunkist is a totally different dog. We have been bathing her about 2 times a week in a special shampoo and most of her hair grew back. She still has a few spots where it’s not completely filled in but I think with some extra love and care she will grow it all back. She still has a little bit of weight to gain but she is at a much better weight now then when she came in. She loves to play with dogs and she doesn’t mid cats either. I have 3 cats and she has never even tried to go near them let alone attack them. She loves to eat and overall is a happy dog and doesn’t hold her past against you.
She is up to date with all her shots and we also spayed her about 10 days ago so she is good to go. She has no aggression in her of any sort she just wants to sit by you on a blanket and snore when she’s asleep. She is also house trained and does very well with not messing up the house as long as you let her out plenty of time. She is also crate trained and when its time for bed as long as she has a blanket or two she goes right to sleep. She will need some work on a leash though because she tends to pull but I am sure she will improve if taken on plenty of walks. She loves other dogs so a home where she has a little buddy to play with would be best home that way she won’t be alone.
Her adoption fee is $ 100. And this will go to MMAH rescue where we can save more dogs like Sunkist. If you are interested in adopting her please send me an email telling me a little about yourself. I don’t want to just give this dog to anyone because I don’t want her to end up back on the streets starving and cold. I also don’t want her to spend her life tied up in the back yard to a tree. She has been through a lot in a young life and I want her to have the best possible home where she will never have to worry about being in the cold or fend for food to stay alive.

These three babies were rescued last week from the horrible Robeson shelter. Two are solid black, one is a tuxedo. They are 9 weeks old, and very playful! Here's a shelter in the backyard of most of CL's that's killing adoptable cats and dogs THAT ARE HEADED FOR A RESCUE, and this keeps getting flagged? Yes, there are some horrible shelters out there, and while FCAS may look like one of the better ones, there is a lot going on behind the scenes obviously. Ask the county commissioners and the director why they put down all these animals if the shelter doesn't need the space? It's not a money issue - the food is donated, the staff is there , the building is open. AND, some of these cats and kittens were going to be taken by a rescue! Poor management, no management, no oversight - no one seems to care. The county commissioner's contact info is public record - go to the county website. JUST ask why so many cats are deemed feral just becasue they hide when they're brought in. Ask yourself - if your cat was trapped and brought into a strange place - would it be all loving and sweet right from the start? As long as Franklin County does not have a leash law, free roaming animals are not necessarily unowned. They've been offered the training to determine if a cat is truly feral or not, free of charge, but no takers. They don't abide by their own policy of holding strays for 72 hours, but they manage to hold purebred dogs for private individuals.
If you are an animal lover, I know you won't flag this. If you are part of this, then, yes, you probably will.
What is going on at the Franklin County Animal Shelter? This week, many many adoptable cats and kittens were killed even though there was no space crunch or reason to rush to get rid of them. In fact, a rescue was going to take some of them, but on Thursday, they were all put down. No one was sick, all were healthy, they were loving and sweet and beautiful, but now they are dead. Where is the oversight there? This happened before and there was supposed to be a procedure followed that prevented just this kind of thing. Is it that they don't want to clean the cages? Does the staff just not want to be bothered? This is not the first incident that has happened there in the last few months that is very questionable. Maybe there should be some serious inquiries into some of these practices. Is it possible the county needs to justify the expense of the incinerator they are purchasing? Gotta have some dead bodies! Please ask questions! Contact the county manager and the commissioners about decisions such as this. If there is plenty of room, the animals are healthy and adoptable, why the rush to kill? How very sad for those cats and kittens that had a place to go but are now beyond help. Who's minding the store at this shelter?

Hi,

We have 2 very loving, kid friendly cats that we need to find homes for. We love them but our 7 years old has developed asthma and we are unable to keep them and are trying to avoid taking them to a shelter. Their names are Noah and Emily. Noah is a white long haired kitty with light blue eyes and is VERY much a lap cat!! Loves to cuddle. Emily is a Tabby with beautiful markings. She is very friendly, not so much a lap cat but lets our daughter carry her all over! They are 2 years old, we adopted them together so they have always been together but don't have to go to the same home. Please email me if you are intersted in one or BOTH!!

mkimball@nc.rr.com

I had someone dump puppies in my neighborhood. They must have known they would find their way to me. I have one left. She is a beautiful black & white boxer/lab/pit possible mix. She has gorgeous markings. I have named her Sox. She has white footies and a white streak under her neck. This is a very gentle sweet dog who needs a good forever home. She has been wormed but I have not taken her to the vet. I have turned down several people who didn't have fences or lived on busy highways. She needs a fenced yard to play in and lots of love. If you have another dog in your family she would be perfect. She has had a ball with mine. Sox doesn't like being inside very much at all. She is shy and is very smart!!! I have attached a photo. *** We have so far raised $262 of our $1000 goal ***

Chance came to 2PawsUp when he was just a 12 week old puppy after being found in a ditch by some kind people who contacted us. He adjusted well in his foster home and was adopted out once he was fully vetted. A few months into his new home, Chance began to have hip issues and it was determined he had hip dysplasia in both hips. His owners did their best to keep him but he also developed serious allergies, so he was returned to 2PawsUp.

Chance has stolen the heart of everyone he has met since he has returned to 2PawsUp. He is the sweetest and happiest little man and will just put his head in your lap and cry to show you how happy he is. It’s a shame he is only a little over a year old and in so much pain. We first took care of his allergies and he is now just on a high quality food and he is back on track.

His hips were not so easy to fix. After taking x-rays and sending them off for a specialist's opinion, it was determined Chance will need an FHO surgery (Femoral Head Ostectomy) because his hip is completely out of socket on one side, and the bone is attached to the muscle. We’ll just have to play it by ear on Chance's second hip as it is not well either. Luckily, Dr. Covington with Mitchell Mill Animal Hospital is able to give Chance the third chance he deserves and he had his surgery Wednesday, January 27th.

Chance's surgery, recovery, laser therapy for immediate pain management, long-term monthly supplements, and his special food will be very expensive. We would like to raise $1,000 to help with initial expenses so any help is greatly appreciated.

UPDATE 2/8/2010

Chance is doing remarkably well after his surgery! This sweet boy craves attention and is not too happy being stuck in his crate but since that is necessary for his healing, he has to put up with it. We are trying to make this time for him more pleasant with yummy filled kong toys and lots of snuggles. He is already putting weight on his leg and is really a trooper! He will be going for some healing/massage therapy soon and we hope this will help his recovery even further. Thank you so much to Companion Chi for offering this service for Chance. We are very pleased with his progress thus far and really appreciate any donations you can spare to help us with our vet bills for him.

UPDATE 2/22/2010

Chance is doing very well post surgery. He had his doggy massage and healing session thanks to Susan of Companion Chi. He really seemed to enjoy it and especially loved the attention and the outing! Chance is using his leg more and more and the challenge now is getting him to slow down on the leash but he is learning! It is definitely hard for him to adjust to having to slow down and take it easy but he is being a real trooper and always has a great attitude and lots of love to give. He may be going for another massage session as well and I am sure this will provide more benefits for him. We really appreciate your giving to help this sweet boy who deserves every chance at a happy and healthy life.

UPDATE 3/1/2010
Chance is making more progress everyday. He will be getting another doggy massage and healing session this week. Thanks to Susan of Companion Chi of Raleigh for offering this service for this special boy! He is so excited when he gets to come out of his crate for his walks. He wants so badly to run and play and just adores attention. He is such a good natured, sweet boy. He never barks and whines and complains and anytime he sees us or we talk to him, his tail wags excitedly. He walks without a limp most of the time and is just making great progress! Thank you for your support of this wonderful dog!

Please make all donations directly to 2PawsUp by clicking the donate button below or you can call in a donation to Mitchell Mill Animal Hospital for Chance with 2PawsUp at 919-266-8177.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

DONATE TO CHANCE

http://www.2pawsup.org/index.html

Luna and Sirius are a perfect pair of adorable kittens with fantastic personalities! These two truly love each other and have a very strong bond. They can be found chasing each other or having a wrestling match....when they get tired, they curl up together for a nap. They also absolutely love people and will follow you around and take every opportunity to snuggle with you. Luna and Sirius are FIV positive and can live a long and happy life with proper good quality food and vet care. Their foster mom will be glad to answer any questions you have about FIV or about this pair in particular as they definitely need and deserve a special home that is just right for them! Sirius and Luna were born January 10th, 2009.

Luna is a tiny princess, full of life and energy. She enjoys every moment to the fullest and adores her humans as well as her brother and protector, Sirius. Luna is very smart and playful, and one of the most affectionate kittens ever. Luna will jump on your shoulder and purr loudly in your ear and loves to give kisses. She loves a lap and she makes even a bad day seem brighter - it is hard to be sad when you see this little ray of sunshine. Luna will pounce on Sirius and then squeal when he plays “too rough.” Of course, when he retreats, she runs back to play again. When she is tired she curls up with him for a nap or on your lap; her ideal situation is to be snuggling with Sirius AND you! Luna is a very small cat and will probably not get much bigger.

Sirius Black is an adorable black kitten with a few gray hairs under his chin. He is totally devoted to his humans and follows me everywhere. He is very vocal and he adores Luna; he is her protector one minute and her rough and tumble playmate the next. Sirius looks at me with his beautiful green eyes and my heart melts - don’t think you can get away with not spoiling him! He loves treats, toys, playtime and anything that involves spending time with his humans. If he isn’t playing with Luna or snuggled up with his paws around her, he is curled up with me, content and purring, or bouncing around wondering what game I will think up next.

Adoption fee of $180 for two includes neuter/spay, microchip, FIV/FeLV testing, vaccines, dewormer, and flea prevention

Please go to www.2pawsup.org to fill out an application!

Honey is about 2 years old, loves people, and really does well with kids! She would make a devoted, lovely companion for someone who can handle a sweet but strong pit. She is not afraid of new things or experiences at all! Honey knows some simple commands, sits nicely, and is full of wiggles and kisses. She walks pretty well on leash, and really wants to please, so she will respond well to training. She can be reactive to other dogs on leash but is being very well-mannered with the other dogs in her foster home. She could do nicely in a home that knows how to manage multiple dogs, or of course, would thrive being the only spoiled princess! Hi - I’m Lil’ Fred. I just had my first birthday, so I am a puppy, really. I have only had one loving home, until I got to my foster mommy’s. I love to play with toys, especially squeaky ones, and with big dogs, like my boxer pals. I am good with tiny dogs too, but I do not try to play with them! My foster mom has a big fenced in yard, so I love to run like the wind there, but I can walk on a lease if I HAVE to! I am very loving, and want my own home again, where I can be special, and not just one of many. I like older children, but little children who run and make a lot of noise are not good for me. When I want to play with them, mommies get nervous and yell at me, and then I get upset too. I like quieter people than little ones are!

I have a nice disposition, but I do need a stable home, with maybe just one or two dogs. I do not like change very much, so it works best to introduce me slowly to new things. That’s what my foster mom does, and so now I like all of my foster siblings because she was patient with me. Please see what a wonderful, special dog I am and give me a new home with lots of love!!

Visit us at http://www.facebook.com/carebullies or http://www.myspace.com/carebullies to see more information and other Adopt-A-Bull bullies!

Blossom is an adorable torbie kitten with a wide, curious face whose
primary goal in life is to snuggle with her people as much as
possible. She is not picky and just loves napping on your lap,
shoulder, or next to you. She would love to be able to sleep in the
bed with you at night and she also loves to play with anything -
especially wands and feathers! She is happy to be doing whatever her
people are doing and has a constant purr. She is quickly adjusting to
the other cats and dogs although she would do well in a home by
herself as long as she gets lots of human interaction. We had found a kitten approximately 7 months ago wandering in the rain. Her mother was no where to be found :( We took her in and she has become a wonderful house cat. She is not spayed. My husband does not want to keep her anymore because we have 3 kids and another cat and dog. She is very playful, as she is still under 1 and very cute! Please someone find it in your heart to give her a good home.

Just bought 5 acres of land and would like to have a goat as a pet. Small fee or free is even better. If you need to rehome a goat or 2 please contact me. I can pick up.

PLEASE make sure before you get a pet/bird that it is no one else's and check the missing ads and pics to make sure that the one you are getting is not already someone's. I pray that most people are honest but we live in the real world and there are those who are not- who would find a pet/bird and sell them just for the money not caring if they have a owner already or not who is searching for them desperately.

Check the pet section and the lost and found to see if you can find their owner if you find one. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you please...

Thank you!

Well, the weather is warming up.....you have great hopes of more exercise but keep putting it off. There is hope. Adopt a dog! Research
studies show that people with pets tend to live longer (really... of course allergies are a different thing). Dogs give unconditional love. They
are great walking companions and will nudge you out the door for that healthy exercise.

Wake Co Animal Shelter is open today from 1 - 4.
This shelter is suitable for the entire family. So, if you have children, take them along to meet their new companion.

Shelter fees range between $50-$120 but include spay/neuter, all shots, heart worm test, flea treatment, microchip and a starter
bag of high quality pet food. This is a fabulous deal, and you walk out the door with a pet that has seen the vet already.

Please visit the shelter today. It is gloomy outside. The dogs and cats love company. Please take the time to meet the dogs that might
not be quite as pretty as you want. Love is there for you.

820 Beacon Lake Rd
Raleigh
212-7387

You don't have to be a Wake Co resident to adopt and the process is easy. Credit cards accepted.

Don't you want to be adored today?

I have rescued two dogs over the years. One from Wake and the other from Moore county animal shelter. I could not have asked for better dogs and best friends. If your looking for a animal, try your local shelter. Situations happen and some may have to give up their animals, but please be patient and find your animals good new homes. Please do not take them to county shelters. Majority of the animals are put down, and not in a humane way. Some NC counties are still using gas chambers and heart sticking.

To help make the numbers decrease, please people have your animals spayed or neutered. This is very important. If you feel like it is too expensive, there are several fairly less expensive clinics throughout the year. Just do a little internet searching.
Have been trying to rehome for almost 2 months. Time is up. I'm exhausted & stressed out. Finished. Snoopy will be going to the shelter on Monday unless someone gets him before then. No luck so far though have talked to several people.

Snoopy is 8 1/2 months old. Short haired Black & white with floppy ears & warm, expressive eyes. Mom - small red pit. Dad - hound?
Snoopy takes after dad. Amazing sense of smell. Long legs. Big but not huge though still growing. Crate trained. Potty trained - will go to door & whine to go out.
Well-mannered - will take treats gently from your hand. Good with kids & cats though a little too rough with both. Sleeps on dog bed in living room. Will fetch ball.
Partly leash trained- pulls hard. Very energetic - thats part of our problem since we're NOT. Will slip out of door to run through neighborhood if not watched since doesn't get enough exercise. Good boy, very sweet.

NOT FIXED. Shots? Unknown - not by me. Previous owner lied about age saying he was older than he was to account for size so might have lied about having had shots too. She got him for free but wanted to make a buck.
PLEASE HELP. He deserves a good home. Ours isn't right or good for him. We're first time dog owners who made a wrong choice, a mistake. Have done our best but can't do it anymore.

Just wanted to let you guys know that Jake monster has settled in wonderfully! He loves his new sister, and he is best buds with the fat cat. He is now sharing a bowl with his sister with no problems. He has gained weight, although I am not weighing him until Tuesday. Like losing weight, gaining weight can be discouraging if you weigh too often. For those who don't know the story, Jake was picked up by animal control after a cruelty complaint, He was taken to WCAS, very emaciated, but still wagging his tail. Thanks to some wonderful people here who helped with sponsorship, he was sprung from the joint this past Tuesday. The shelter estimated his age at 2 yrs, but he is much younger, I am guessing around 10 months. Attached is a pic of what he looked like when he was brought in. I will post new pics next week after his first weigh-in.

AGAIN.....a GIANT THANK YOU from Jake to all those who helped him get out. If you were here, he'd give you a big slobbery kiss!

Pumpkin is an incredibly sweet and smart cat and has been a real joy to have around! She is quite affectionate and loves to play....anything is a toy for her whether it is a busy ball, a piece of paper, or a milk ring. If it isn't a "cat" toy, Pumpkin will make it into one! She also loves water and can often be found sticking her paw in the water dish. She gets along well with other cats but a slow introduction is best. She is fine with other kitties who respect her space, especially when she is enjoying a treat. She can often be found "mothering" my foster kittens and will curl up on the bed next to the older cats. I have a 5-year-old corn snake that is looking for a home. I can no longer keep him, as I have moved away for school and can not keep it. He's a little wild, due to not being handled while I was away. Once he is handled he is docile. Never been bitten. I am sure that with a little bit of handling he will calm down further.
He comes with a 20 gallon tank and I'll throw in a few hoppers, too.
No cost at all. I am just looking for him to find a good home.

Thank you very much.

Juni-Purr was found as a stray just before she was ready to give birth to her four kittens, Moopy Face, Besos, Ray Charles, and Grey Button. Luckily for her, a kind person took her in and 2PawsUp took her under their wings! This little momma is full of energy and LOVES attention. She loves to snuggly and is very easygoing. Juni-Purr is a petite cat but super soft and friendly. She would be great by herself or in a home with other kitties--as long as there's enough attention for two!

Adoption fee of $115 includes spay, vaccines, microchip, deworming, FeLV/FIV testing, and flea prevention

Please go to www.2pawsup.org to fill out an application!
