The Neuse Riverkeeper Foundation is looking for Spanish speaking volunteers to bring awareness to the community on the condition of the Neuse River through one-on-one interaction with members of the community. This is NOT a marketing position, but does require a willingness to initate conversations with a diverse array of people about their interaction with local water resources.
The Neuse RIVERKEEPER® Foundation protects, restores and preserves the Neuse River basin through education, advocacy and enforcement, in order to provide clean water for drinking, recreation and enjoyment to the communities that it serves. You can learn more at www.neuseriver.org
Known cancer-causing pollutants like PCB's are found in the Neuse River watershed as a result of poor waste management by large industries. These chemicals affect the more than 500,000 residents of North Carolina who rely on the Neuse for everything from recreation to drinking water. Even before Sony's big unveil earlier this month at Cologne GamesCom, it felt like we already knew the PlayStation 3 Slim quite intimately. A leak from back in May gave us a glimpse of every angle of the hardware's exterior, and even the final retail box. At that point, we didn't know what to make of it, and the change in logo font definitely threw us off. Three months, thirty seconds of video, and a dash of legal paperwork later, and we're looking at that very same leaked device, now taking up space adjacent to our hefty 60GB "Classic" model from launch day. Unquestionably, it's smaller and lighter, but how else has Sony's Blu-ray-playing console evolved -- or regressed -- over these past few years? Read on to find out!
The short answer is that the group will be whatever all of us make it ...

The long answer is that this group will come together to uncover what it means for each of us to be a man in this world of ours. The ultimate answers to these questions will be different for each man who pursues them, but the process of working through the questions themselves as a group is the fun part. And the environment built around our group is one that supports this process of discovery in every way.

We're looking to fill the group with 8 men and there are a couple spots left.

Please email if interested and let me know if you have any questions! Now forming: a group that meets in Durham on Sunday mornings to support families in their practice of the Buddhist tradition.

We'll be meeting from 10:30am to 12:30pm, with the first hour for practice and the second for a potluck lunch. During the first hour, parents/caregivers will practice meditation together and then discuss a reading or topic (with a focus on how our lives as parents/caretakers can be integrated with our spiritual paths). At the same time, children (ages 3 and up) have a play period, followed by half an hour of study. Parents rotate supervising/teaching the children weekly. The class time is dedicated to learning about Buddhism and meditation in a fun, engaging way, through art, music, games, reading, and group activities.

The group is ecumenical, though it will include study of the Buddhist thought and tradition and not focus solely on meditation. For more information, please contact Sumi at the email address provided by Craigslist.
We know its early!
And we know its Saturday! hahahah. Actually, we do it this time of the morning so that it dosen't eat into your day. Whether its your t-time or family time. Ball games. Honey Do list,
Or just hangin' out at the Flea Market. You still can do all those things. It's a Christian oriented mens meeting. We don't beat anybody over the head with a bible or preach any of that "turn or burn" kinda stuff. We just hang out & talk. Encourage each others as bros. If you have a special prayer request, lay it on us. We'll pray for you.
Dad's & sons, its a great place for you to go together. The meeting normally last till 8am. Some hang out a little longer if the're a good conversation underway. And, oh by the way, we're colorblind! Red, Yellow, Black, or White, or anything in between! You're gonna be welcomed & warmed by this group of fellas. Right now, we have about 15 - 20 shows up every Sat. We'd like to see a jump in participation . Let's get 25 - 40. Bring your buddies & come on! Oh, by the way (again). The breakfast specials & the hot coffee are great! And Jeanne, our faithful & gracious server takes good care of us. See ya there!
