I have a fenced in back yard, doggie door, vet reference and a stay at home grandmother. Please do not flag. I recently lost my husband and I think with another puppy to raise and love it might help. I do not mind a home visit. Actually I would perfer that so you are comfortable with where the puppy will be raised. I do not have small children so that is not a problem. I am looking for a female (due to the fact that my vet told me that my dog may be more comfortable with a female), no older than 3 months old. I will pay a small rehoming fee if the puppy has had some vet work done and I will need the record so my vet can have it. My rehoming fee is set at $50 because she will be taken straight to my vet for a checkup and whatever else she may need. Please understand that I have glaucoma and cannot travel far. Small Kennel is large enough to fit a young or small lab. But is most properly sized for a cocker spaniel. ($30) Large Kennel is large enough to fit a 27" tall dog as it fits my 27" Rottweiler, but she doesn't need it anymore. She does fine with our other dog, which is a Yorkie. She is not a bayer. She hardly ever barks. While she is an inside dog, she would be much better suited to be an outside dog. The most important thing, is that she go to a compassionate, patient and loving family/person. Her back does go out sometimes, therefore, we do not let her on the furniture. We don't want her jumping. She needs to be somewhere she can have access to a doggie door (if she is kept inside). She is not a hunter. Though, like all Beagles, she does like to track, occasionally. Please be advised, I do NOT respond to "one sentence" inquiries, nor do I respond to those individuals who can not form a complete sentence. It is imperative she go to a loving home, so should someone take her, and she not work out, I will take her back. <![CDATA[If you had Myles first, why are you getting rid of him and not the dogs that came after him? Why is he loved less and of less importance than the dogs? You say he's 3.5 years old, so you've had him for awhile, and now he has a miserable life because of the dogs yet HE has to go. So very sad for him that he never made it into your heart and you have never made a commitment to him. He has done nothing wrong, yet he will likely end up dead or in a sad situation. There are way more cats than dogs looking for homes, and way more cats than dogs that are in shelters and die in shelters every day. I just don't understand why he is the second class citizen, and the dogs that came after him get priority. Losing his home and being cast off because of newcomers. How sad is that. I had a really, really rough start to life and things are finally looking up for me. See, I was born, well I don't really remember the first four months, but one day I woke up in a shelter in Chapel Hill lost and confused. I wanted to trust the people there but I just wasn't sure so I just hid in the back of my kennel. My first foster mom saw the glitter in my eyes and gave me a new chance at life. When I first was pulled from the shelter I was scared of everything but my foster momma worked through things with me and trained me into a good boy. I was adopted out and they thought I was going to stay a medium sized dog, but my body have different, taller, plans for me and I became a little too much for their kids to handle. When I returned to 2PawsUp it was clear I needed some obedience training and training to help me deal with being such a big, goofy dog! I graduated from Darwin K9's program and now have a total new outlook on life. I listen to my people and know several commands. They taught me how to walk well on a leash and not throw my human around and helped me trust other dogs more. I like to be the top dog in charge but I have found many friends along the way that I enjoy spending time with, we like to wrestle and play when we get the chance to hang out in daycare. They say I am picky about who my friends are, but each day I tolerate more and more. My training has turned me from a goofy ole hound mix to a well behaved gentleman searching for a new home. I would do well with a dog smaller than me that doesn't mind that I think I am top dog. I've never really been around cats so I would prefer a home without. A fenced in back yard is a must and due to my size and goofiness I should only be with kids over 10 years old. WE ARE DESPERATELY SEARCHING FOR LOVING FAMILIES/INDIVIDUALS TO HELP US!!! puppy season has started early and these poor animals are dying every minute, every day...it is very sad. The shelters are full and bursting at the seams!! (Puppy season is here) There is no space for these precious furbabies and we desperately need foster families to help us save animals. We need individuals to offer their time to drive animals from point A to point B. Anything would be a help. Puppy season has begun early!!! HELP! These are extremely high kill "shelters" that are using GASSING and HEARTSTICK as a means of Euthanizing these poor animals. They are gassing pregnant, nursing, and even mommies that are just going into labor. It is outrageous and inhumane! We need help to save them. We understand that we can not save them all but we must do the best we can as these poor innocent creatures have no voice of their own. The foster time needed will usually range from one week to one month, tops. Can you help by providing a temporary safe haven until these beautiful babies can get to their forever homes. The economy has hit the pet population the hardest as families are losing their homes and have no where to take their animals if they can't take them with them. Dogs are being left abandoned in homes or thrown out to the streets! We are doing our best to help them but we certainly can use help even if it is just short term. I had my ear cropped when I was spayed, but it is hardly noticeable. I stay inside at night, but still go out & play during the day. My mom wants me to be an indoor kity only because of my safety. I cannot stay with my mom because the cat allergies are making her sick. I just need a loving person that will give me a chance. I need some fostering or someone that can keep me inside & show me how great life can be ,being an indoor kitty. I am litter box trained & I love to give head buts, love my belly rubbed, have not been held in a lap yet, but I am a sweet little girl. I was rescued from the outdoors , so I am still not totally trained for the indoors only at this time but I think the transistion would be easy enough with a patient person. My mom is heartbroken to let me go. I would work out great being an only kitty or in a low stress household. I was chased by big dogs when I was younger & have had a few feral cats that were not nice to me. I am a meek little girl & I get scared easy. If you can foster me so I can be put up for adoption ,or just want to take me to my forever home, as long as mommy is comfortable with my new perspective family . He is a 3.5 year-old healthy, neutered male, up-to-date on his shots, and one of those special cats who is more dog-like in his manner (responsive, affectionate, bonds with his owner). Though he was raised with dogs initially so I did not anticipate this difficulty, he has not been able to transition to the addition of two larger rescued pups who joined the family about 8 months ago. He deserves a better life with the right new owner then hiding upstairs most of the time! Mylo might do OK with older kids and/or another non-aggressive cat. He's indoor-outdoor and would eventually prefer to keep his freedom once he's settled in. He stays close to home and loves to help with yard work and car washing. He really is a special guy! We are trying to do right by him by finding him another home because during the day, he has to stay on a tether outside and it makes him miserable. He is a great dog, good with kids and other dogs, and okay with cats. He loves to run and play, and will chase squirrels all day long if you let him. He does okay indoors, but doesn't like to stay inside for long. Max is very protective, he will growl and bark at strangers, so when you meet him, it will take a few minutes for him to warm up, but after that, he will be all over you. You will have to remind him to use his manners and not jump and try to lick you. Kids are his forte, I have 4 children, 6 and younger, and he can't get enough attention from them. So if you are looking for a wonderful dog, this is your boy, please consider giving him a home, he deserves to be happy. BTW, this picture does not do him justice! The information is from a volunteer who has been caring for Zora and thinks she is wonderful. NOTE: If you are unable to adopt, but would like to FOSTER Zora, the shelter does provide food and vet care for foster animals. It's a win/win for all! Zora is a beautiful black and white "low-rider" American Staffy mix with teddy-bear soft fur. Very sweet and affectionate, she would like nothing better than to snuggle with you and give you lots of gentle kisses. She is treat motivated and is learning "sit," so it should be easy to teach her other basic commands. She walks nicely on leash and appears to be housetrained (although as with all shelter dogs, she may need a few days of a routine of being taken outside and shown where it's appropriate to go). Zora has displayed no aggression toward other dogs but apparently has some food aggression, so if there is animal in the household, they will just need to be fed in separate areas. Her attitude toward cats is unknown. But I like dynamics; I like loud/quiet/loud (and yes, I love the Pixies); I like performance art and being the part; I like playing frequent shows; I like peaceful, non-dramatic, quasi-intellectual situations (but am not smart enough to consider myself a nerd); I like sobreity; I like the Gretsch guitar I just bought...I think that about covers it. I'm 34 and have been playing guitar seriously for over 20 years. I have an ear for music...I can hear something once and usually play it back entirely or find out where I fit in, as well as contribute feedback, if asked. I'm not into money, but I do want to make some doing what I love...I'm not even opposed to side-jobs, such as weddings, private parties, etc. And the dreaded question...who are my influences? I usually forget most of them...but there's a difference in the music that raised me and the bands I listen to now. I loved the personality of Kurt Cobain, sure...do I want to be Nirvana? No. I strongly admire the Pixies (as well as the honorable Mr. Charles Thompson, individually); I typically tend to draw influence from "darker" sources, such as the Cure, the Church, earlier Depeche Mode. But I also enjoyed growing up listening to early Green Day (and I mean early), early Weezer (and I mean early) and most Seattle bands. One of her favorite things is to snuggle with people; she'll cuddle on the bed, sleep between your legs, and even visit you while you're soaking in the tub or taking a shower. Though she enjoys sunbathing you'll often find her in the strangest places to sleep. She's an explorer! Any cabinet or small space she can find will make a perfect bed - from wicker baskets to large baseball gloves! Hannah loves her foster parents to sit on the floor and play with her. She will climb on your lap or roll around while you pet her but she loves if you're at her level on the ground. Hannah is definitely a sweet little girl who would make any family very happy!
