We are a small writing group that meets weekly in the writing area. Though we have intentions of collaborating to publish an anthology of our writing, we are still toying around with each other's writing, playing with each other's words and giving general critiques to each other's assignments. We meet at someone's house or a local bar read our stuff, discuss what we get from it and make suggestions where we can.

I mean, we're all pretty much friends or friends of friends so we are pretty relaxed and work hard at not just hanging out.( I feel comfortable believing that most writers can identify with that!) But while we are still feeling out each other's styles and trying on different ways to play off our respective tones, we thought it'd be a good idea to add 2-4 writers more to the mix. We do want like minded people, but I suppose that would be impossible to describe in any useful way, so send a poem, short story and/or a little bio and we'll check you out and see if you're someone who can add to our project and someone who can benefit from our critiques. (which is to say, you don't suck and are focused on similar topics/issues/questions/i don't really know what the hell we're focused on!?)

anyhoo.

Yeah, you can tell by this that we're pretty informal and we do have a great time! So if you live in the local raleigh area, can SERIOUSLY COMMIT to attending our meetings and hitting deadlines, need honest criticism and are willing to give it in return, and are ready to work on using your voice to speak on behalf of and about our city, then send us something.

so...
...yeah.

Seeking artists to contribute to a good cause!

A local non-profit will be hosting a silent art auction and concert April 10th, with all the proceeds being sent to Rwanda. After Rwanda's horrific genocide, the country is still in great need of resources and repair. Local artists and musicians are banding together for an evening celebrating the Arts for a greater cause: meeting practical needs in a developing country. This is a fundraising benefit which will include food, music and visual art. Please come and bring your friends!

We are seeking artists to donate pieces to this noble cause. The artists will not retain any of the profit, but are free to market themselves and generate an audience. Art empowering people is art at its best!

If you are interested in donating, please respond and details will be given.

Thank you for your interest!

Do you have artwork that needs a makeover? The glass is broken, the picture has fallen, the frame is coming apart, there are bugs in the picture? I have 15 years experience framing pictures and have done it all. From Monet to butterfly wings, jerseys to posters. I work out of my home so my overhead is not an issue and I can keep prices low. I've restored paintings and can touch up art that may have scratches, or repair shadowboxes that have items that have moved. I can also do frame restoration. Prices are going to be less than you would have to pay at a gallery or frame shop. Please contact me and we can work on the details. The example showing is of a painting I did in watercolor and then also matted and framed. The other is a feather that I also painted and framed.

I have painted on jackets and a variety of other objects, including feathers. I also offer the availability of framing your art if you wish. Artwork makes a wonderful gift for loved ones or friends. Don't wait too long as it takes time to produce beautiful art. I work out of my home and can work from your photos.

I have been painting and drawing since I was very small and I won't go into how big I am now. My abilities have expanded to include painting on feathers. There is not much that is off limits, anything can be painted on if it sits still long enough. I work from photos, combining two or more images, or imagination and am excellent at pets, flowers, kids, and scenery. I work out of my home and size is not a problem. I have painted on clothing and trailers and canvas and recently feathers. I am open to a challenge, I just don't do anything pornographic. You can check my site www.brandycraft.com for many more examples and items for sale. I am also capable of framing your art as I did that professionally for 15 years.
